9/24/2026 God’s Family has an Important Job to do.Hello, Bridge family. I hope everything is going well. As usual, I trust everyone is having a fantastic week. This week at the Bridge, we emphasized Christ’s command to go and make disciples (Matt 28:19 NLT). From my experience in children’s ministry, I’ve observed that many children are quite capable of this. Over the years, several parents have shared that they started attending church because their kids urged them. I know children often find it easier to talk about Jesus with others than adults do. That is why we, as parents, have a wonderful opportunity to disciple them and help them understand that God’s family has an important job: going to others, sharing Jesus, and equipping them to make the most of the opportunity.
I recommend exploring DigIN@Home, which provides a meaningful family project to plant a seed in a neighbor’s heart. At the bottom of the page, it asks, "Why do you or don’t you think it’s important to tell about Jesus?"—a great way to start conversations and encourage your family to reach out. To help them be intentional, I found this resource from Lifeway Kids for practice so they can build a solid understanding of the gospel before sharing it with others. I thought it was cool that, besides the verses in parentheses, there's a symbol your child can draw to help visualize the message they are sharing. · God rules (Crown). Because God created everything, He is in charge of everything. (Revelation 4:11) · We sinned (X). Everyone sins, or disobeys God. Our sin separates us from God. (Romans 3:23) · God provided (Cross). God is holy and must punish sin. God sent His Son, Jesus, to take the punishment we deserve. (John 3:16) · Jesus gives (Gift). Jesus took our punishment for sin by giving His life, and He gives us His righteousness. This is the best gift ever! (2 Corinthians 5:21) · We respond (Raised Hands). Everyone has a choice to make. Will you trust Jesus as your Savior and Lord? You can turn from self and sin and turn to Jesus. (Romans 10:9-10) Finally, and most significantly, teach them how to pray. Encourage them to ask God for the strength to share and the words to say. Pray that He prepares the heart of the person they're reaching out to for the message of Jesus. Also, help them understand that it’s God who changes hearts; we are only to plant seeds, and He’ll do the growing. Remember, as long as your child is at home, you have a wonderful opportunity to share the Bible. Together, explore its stories, discuss how they relate to daily life, and encourage deeper family conversations. This makes faith an exciting and meaningful journey. God bless. I look forward to seeing your family on Sunday. Pastor Bob Comments are closed.
